The Culture and Heritage Museums will have the following events:
n Sights and Sounds of the American Revolution, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 5 at Historic Brattonsville, 1444 Brattonsville Road, McConnells. The sound of field drums and wooden fifes will take you back to the time of George Washington and Paul Revere. The Plymouth Fife and Drum Corps of Plymouth, Mich., a junior corps for ages 12 to 18, recall the days when fifing and drumming were used to relay commands to soldiers, direct unit movements and provide inspiration. A fife and drum performance will be at 11 a.m.; Voices of the American Revolution: Readings from History will be at 11:45 a.m.; military drill and weapon demonstrations will be at noon; and hearth cooking demonstrations and tours of Col. William Bratton's home will be ongoing. Admission is adults, $6; seniors, $5; youth ages 4 to 17, $3; and members and children 3 and younger, free. For details, call 684-2327.
n Family workshop, for children ages 4 and older with an adult, from 7 to 8 p.m., Aug. 11 at the Museum of York County, 4621 Mount Gallant Road, Rock Hill. Participants will be taught about the benefits of outdoor time and share in activities. Each family will receive a magnification loupe. Cost is $5 per family for CHM members and $8 per family for non-members. The event is organized by Liz Baird of the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in recognition of international "Take a Child Outside Week." To register, call (803) 981-9182 by Aug. 4. n Bridges & Trails: Connecting Community to Nature, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 12 at MYCO. Learn about the projects Carolina Thread Trail and A Bridge and Its Place. An overview of the planned regional trail network will be given by Ann Browning, Carolina Thread Trail project director, and a discussion of a project for planning footbridges to unite segments of the trail will be conducted by Deborah Ryan, associate professor in the School of Architecture at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Shakespeare swings back for second weekend
The Young Yorkville Players will present "The Shakespeare Project" and "The Fifteen Minute Hamlet" at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. July 27.
In "The Shakespeare Project," adapted by James Zager, the most famous scenes and monologues are taken from a selection of Shakespearean works and presented in a contemporary style with new interpretations.
In "Fifteen Minute Hamlet," Tom Stoppard's version takes the most famous and best- loved lines from Shakespeare's "Hamlet" and condenses them into a hilarious 15-minute version.

Football seminar planned at Fewell Park
Fewell Park will have a free football seminar, In the Huddle, with Bobby Carroll, head football coach at South Pointe High School, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the park, 1204 Alexander Road, Rock Hill.

Tega Cay hosting bash, baseball night
The Tega Cay Community will have the following events:
n The eighth annual Tega Cay Bash, from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Tega Cay Golf Club and Community Center, 1 Molokai Drive, Fort Mill. This year's theme is football fever.
